Mamavation Monday - Nothing like surgery to knock of the pounds!

Sorry about the absence the last couple of weeks!  October has been such a busy busy month!  On the 9th, I turned 39.  We went out of town for the weekend. We took the houseboat out and had a great fall weekend!

The following week was crazy busy with work and I was having a cookout at my house on Saturday.  So it was pretty much "head down" all week. I had made a mistake at work and was working on rectifying it.  I must say that it had me so stressed out that I was even beyond my stress eating!  I think I lost 2 pounds that week.

The following Monday I had a Septoplasty.  If you are squeamish you may want to skip this part... The doctor had to go into my nose and remove part of one of my turbinates and put my septum back where it belonged.  So this past week has been very uncomfortable (read miserable) for me.  The silver lining was that I could not smell so I did not have much desire to eat.  I only ate so that I could take my medicine.  So I did manage to lose about 4 pounds over the last week.

I am not sure about non-scale victories.  I am excited to see if the surgery takes care of my migraines that I get when I get hot - so maybe I won't be so scared when I try to jog that I am going to be down the rest of the day.  Also, I hope I can continue my habit of not overeating and eat smaller meals.  I feel like I have been given a little jump start and I hope to take advantage of it!.

This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by New Balance.   The question to be answered is...

How would you brand your health and wellness lifestyle?  How do you want others to know you in this area?

I would say we are a family of "over moderation".  What does that mean?  Well we get moderate exercise, we eat moderately well, yada yada yada.  I would really like to take it up another level and have been slowly trying. But now that my surgery is done and hopefully so are the migraines I really want to be known as a more physically fit person!  I want to be the one that does a lot of 5ks!  My goal for the Music City 1/2 Marathon this year is to run more than walk.  Bet those New Balance shoes would come in handy for that!

This post is sponsored by New Balance and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women

Having your surgery go smoothly with the possibility of being able to run, etc... and find relief from headaches sounds like a REAL non-scale victory to me!

Hope recovery goes well and you continue healthy weight loss this week. Have a good one.

I hope that you start seeing the profits of your surgery very quickly so you can put that behind you. I also hope that your work situation rectified itself properly. Have a great week!

I hope your migraines are cured. That is the biggest NSV ever. No more debilitating headaches, awesome.
