Meet My Friends Monday - 5

MeetMyFriends

This weeks highlighted blog is Super Mae. Super Mae is written by Sandra. Sandra has become such a great friend.

On May 9th of 2008, Sandra left me this comment - I had posted about waking up and finding a spider crawling on me...

Hi
I would like to say to you that I loved your blog,'cause in many different ways it's quite similar to mine (excepet mine is in portuguese!...).I'm also a stay-at-home mom and I honestly adore it!And I have to say that I consider you quite brave! If I were you, I wouldn't be abble to sleep that night!I'm completely aracnophobic!Just like you. I'm more into snakes or any other reptiles...Anyway,You're welcome to pass by my blog and have a look around (though you may not understand a word of it, there´s always pics and short videos

So, I did check out her blog and saw great pictures of her three boys and she soon changed her blog to English and we have kept up with each other since.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Sandra is child lover. She loves all things baby and I believe she is one of those selfless Mom's that always puts her kids first!

She has also started a second blog Love in My Veins, this blog has more about her wonderful boys and goes a little more in to the baby thing...

Here is a little interview I did with Sandra...

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging cause one of my Portuguese friends had one of her own and I thought it would be pretty cool to have a place where I could share my thoughts and life happenings. But I really started enjoying it when I decided to post and blog only in English! That was when I found how wonderful the blogging world is.

Can you give us a little background about your life in Portugal and being a stay at home mom there?

Being a stay at home mom in Portugal is not an easy task.Salaries are quite low compared to the other European countries and the life cost is pretty high.Plus we hardy get any benefits from the government to help us bringing up our children (which makes absolutely no sense in a country that has more aged people than children!)But it's so rewarding being there for my kids whenever they need me that I forget all the difficulties and obstacles.

What do you feel is the best reward you get from blogging?

The best reward!?....Hmmmm....I have to say to get to know such amazing ladies and the sharing of life experience!Blogging was a blessing to me.I was feeling left alone thou I'm surrounded with people and sharing my thoughts and get feedback is wonderful!

If you could get your boys to remember one piece of wisdom what would it be?

Be always willing to help the others expecting nothing from them. And never stop dreaming! :)

Sandra sounds great! She started her blog for the same reason as me, to feel less lonely at home. It worked! Great interview...
