My Stupid Mom Moment

Okay I should have titled it "One of" My Stupid Mom Moments.

Anyway I was catching up at The Other Huse and she is participating in 2nd Keepin' It Real Extravaganza. So I thought I sounded cool and decided to join in.

Here is one of my most memorable Stupid Mom Moments...

Hunter was probably about 3 months old and I was a Bumbo Mama. I loved that thing. He went everywhere throughout the house in it. So one morning I am in the bathroom getting ready and Hunter is at my side in his Bumbo. Now, according to Bumbo instructions, they should be on a flat surface. Well my bathroom counter is on the small side and the bumbo did not fit flattly on it. But, Hunter is just 3 months old and not strong enough to make that move, right?

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!

I took the 3 steps out of the bathroom to grab my shirt and heard this crash. I go running (seriously 3 steps) back into the bathroom and there is Hunter still in the Bumbo but hanging upside down between the wall and toilet, and he is screaming!

It was obvious he had hit his head but had luckily stayed attached to the seat. Now I am panicking. I think I am seriously about to jump in the car with just my jeans and bra on and rush him to the ER. This would have led to Stupid Mom Moment number 2 because I am certain I would have driven with him in my arms...

Instead, I called my mom and I am crying and frantic and she said that as long as he was crying she was sure he was fine, which he was. I will say that the Bumbo never left the floor after that day. And I have to admit had I know he was okay and had my camera been close I may have had to snap a photo of him dangling over the toilet. Would that have qualified for this post? Probably. But as it turns out he will never have to know about it until one of my "friends" tell him...
